Eliel Ponen holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand. Leveraging his engineering background, he applies strong analytical and systems thinking capabilities to complex organisational and infrastructure environments. His experience spans engineering research and development consulting, programme design, and academic pathway development for prospective STEM students.
Since joining AIA, Eliel has supported strategic initiatives across public sector and infrastructure-focused organisations, contributing to PMO design, organisational optimisation, and performance governance. His work includes developing delivery oversight frameworks, strengthening portfolio and programme controls, and aligning execution with institutional mandates and strategic objectives.
Through this work, he has supported clients in improving decision-making visibility, strengthening implementation discipline, and establishing delivery models that enable sustainable long-term institutional performance.
