Hasnayn Ebrahim serves as the Managing Director of AIA and leads project work with clients across various disciplines and practice lines; having a particular focus on strategy and innovation within the integrated energy environment. Educated as a metallurgical engineer from the University of Witwatersrand, Hasnayn gained close to a decade of practical and technical, hands-on experience working for the largest global steel-maker as well as a global engineering design firm in various positions and departments.

Since joining AIA in 2012, Hasnayn has advised multi-national companies, government departments, State-Owned Entities and regulatory entities in business and organisational strategy, organisational restructuring and turnarounds, Africa focused growth strategies, regulatory and compliance matters, market entry and market demand studies, mergers & acquisitions, project finance and development, stakeholder engagement and facilitation of strategic and board workshops. Furthermore, his work within the energy space, particularly gas within the African environment, provides him with a unique understanding of the market and enablers required for development.

As a firm believer of developing and nurturing local talent, Hasnayn gives particular focus to the growth and development of AIA employees, and drives mentoring across areas of focus, including young entrepreneurs of which he is deeply passionate about.
